VANRATH are partnering with a growing technology solutions provider to recruit an IT Solutions Account Manager to join their commercial team. This opportunity is ideally suited to a sales professional with experience selling IT solutions, managed services, infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, or wider technology services into business customers. The role requires a consultative approach, focusing on understanding customer challenges, developing tailored solutions, and building long-term strategic relationships.
This is not a high-volume product sales position. Success in the role will come from engaging with customers, identifying business needs, and working alongside technical specialists to deliver value-driven technology solutions. The position will involve regular customer visits across Northern Ireland and therefore candidates should be comfortable managing field-based relationships and conducting face-to-face meetings.
Key Responsibilities Manage and develop a portfolio of existing business customers Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers Conduct regular on-site customer meetings to understand business requirements and identify opportunities Work collaboratively with technical and pre-sales teams to design tailored technology solutions Identify opportunities to grow account revenue through solution-led and consultative selling Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and solution recommendations Maintain a structured sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting Support customer retention through proactive account management and service reviews Develop a strong understanding of customer environments, business objectives, and future technology requirements Act as a key point of contact throughout the sales and solution delivery process About You Applicants should be able to demonstrate: Experience in an Account Manager, IT Sales, Technology Solutions Sales, Business Development, or Client Relationship role A background selling IT services, managed services, infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, telecommunications, or related technology solutions Experience managing customer relationships through a consultative, solution-led sales approach Proven success developing and growing B2B accounts Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills Experience conducting face-to-face client meetings and managing a field-based territory Ability to engage with both commercial and technical decision-makers Commercial awareness and a track record of achieving revenue objectives Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites Particularly Relevant Backgrounds Managed Service Providers (MSPs) IT Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions Providers Telecommunications & Connectivity Solutions Cybersecurity Services Technology Consultancy IT Resellers and Systems Integrators Less Relevant Backgrounds Candidates whose experience has been focused primarily on transactional product sales, software subscription sales, or highly remote SaaS sales environments may be less suited to the consultative and relationship-led nature of this position.
