Job Description Reporting to the Project Management Office (PMO), the Senior Business Analyst acts as a strategic partner to business units and IT teams. He or she contributes to the success of corporate initiatives by ensuring rigorous needs analysis, value-based prioritization, and ongoing alignment between business objectives, projects, and delivered solutions. This role is carried out in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders, where the analyst is expected to contribute to large-scale projects, transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
The Senior IT Business Analyst contributes to demand management, business case development, impact analysis, definition of success criteria, and solution adoption. He or she also supports the alignment of initiatives with portfolio priorities and organizational capacity. Through leadership, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence without formal authority, the individual acts as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders and contributes to the evolution of business analysis practices within the PMO.
Primary Responsibilities Business Analysis and Initiative Scoping Gather, analyze, and structure business needs from stakeholders (executives, managers, subject matter experts) Document highālevel and detailed requirements (functional and nonāfunctional) in a clear, structured, and valueādriven manner Analyze existing business processes and identify pain points, gaps, and improvement opportunities Translate business needs into actionable requirements for delivery teams (functional, technical, testing) PMO Contribution and Demand Management Collaborate with the PMO on demand management, initiative qualification, and prioritization Contribute to the development of business cases (costs, benefits, risks, impacts) Support project managers in defining scope, deliverables, and success criteria Help align initiatives with portfolio priorities and organizational capacity Delivery, Impact, and Adoption Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external partners Assess the impact of changes on processes, operations, and users Contribute to change management, training, and solution adoption activities Leadership and Business Analysis Practices Act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive stakeholders Provide mentorship and support to less experienced business analysts, as needed Promote best practices in business analysis, requirements management, and process improvement Desired Skills and Competencies Experience and Expertise Significant experience in transformation environments, enterprise systems, or largeāscale IT initiatives Experience within professional services and multiāsector organizations Experience developing opportunity assessments, feasibility studies, or business cases (costābenefit analyses, business cases) Strong experience in requirements documentation and process improvement Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills Experience with ERP systems and enterprise solutions Experience in structured PMO or multiāproject environments is considered an asset Excellent ability to analyze, synthesize, structure, and simplify information Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence without direct authority Strong business judgment and ability to prioritize based on value, risks, dependencies, and feasibility Strong ability to thrive in a complex, transformational, and resultsāoriented environment Rigor, autonomy, curiosity, and ability to learn quickly in a fastāchanging, resultsādriven environment Collaboration and Communication Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences Strong teamwork, collaboration, and customer service orientation Methods and Tools Knowledge of project management and delivery frameworks (Waterfall and Agile), as well as development life cycles Knowledge of ticketing and project management software (Atlassian, Service Desk) or equivalent tools is an asset Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 process documentation standards is an asse Qualifications Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in business analysis, ideally within structured project environments (PMO) Demonstrated experience in organizational transformation or largeāscale IT initiatives Experience in multiāproject or matrix environments Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written): bilingualism is an essential requirement for this role, as it enables effective collaboration with our diverse stakeholders Certification in business analysis such as Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) is considered an asset Knowledge of the engineering industry is considered an asset Experience with structured tools or frameworks for demand, requirements, or portfolio management Integrity, professionalism, team spirit, and commitment to excellence Competitive Advantages Understanding of AI opportunities in IT and corporate
