IT Manager (salary upto 45k) London Permanent The Role This is a hands-on and operationally critical role responsible for owning and developing our internal IT infrastructure. As the IT Manager, you will lead the transition from a largely reactive, ad-hoc IT environment to a structured, secure, and scalable ecosystem. You will evaluate existing systems, implement best-in-class tools and processes, and ensure that technology effectively supports a growing, global organization.
This role requires a balance of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and strong stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Systems & Infrastructure Ownership: Manage internal IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud environments, and end-user systems. Cloud & Identity: Oversee Microsoft 365, Azure/Active Directory, and device management (Intune/Company Portal) across a hybrid workforce.
Hardware Management: Manage the full hardware lifecycle, including laptops, mobile devices, and office equipment. Optimization: Support and optimize key business systems, including ERP and finance platforms (e.g., Business Central). Systems Implementation & Process Optimization Evaluation: Identify inefficiencies or system gaps and implement best-in-class SaaS solutions (ERP, CRM, ITSM, collaboration tools).
Automation: Drive automation and standardization of processes to improve operational efficiency. Documentation: Maintain system processes and policies to ensure consistency and scalability. Cybersecurity & Compliance Security Protocols: Implement and manage SSO, MFA, endpoint protection, and mobile device management.
Compliance: Ensure alignment with data protection standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2). Risk Mitigation: Monitor system security, manage access controls, and lead user awareness initiatives. IT Support & User Experience Support Oversight: Manage the IT helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution of issues across all offices and remote users.
Onboarding: Partner with HR to deliver a seamless technical onboarding and offboarding experience. Engagement: Conduct regular check-ins with teams to proactively identify and resolve technical friction points. Vendor & Project Management Partnerships: Manage relationships with external vendors, MSPs, and software partners.
Budgeting: Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and licensing. Strategy: Lead IT projects from planning through execution, aligning IT strategy with broader business objectives. Candidate Profile Experience: 5+ years in IT, with at least 2 years in a hands-on IT Manager or Systems Administrator role.
Technical Stack: Strong experience managing SaaS environments, specifically Microsoft 365 and Azure. Device Management: Proven experience with Intune and MDM solutions. Business Systems: Experience implementing and optimizing ERP, CRM, or ITSM platforms.
Security Mindset: Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles (Zero Trust, access control, phishing mitigation). Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability: Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Experience leading or mentoring a small IT team. Background in a high-growth, digitally evolving organization.
