IT Analyst II - Computer Aided Dispatch Analyst

As our team transitions to an Agile framework, the Dispatch CAD System Support Specialist will play a key role in guiding and reinforcing Agile practices. You’ll collaborate closely with business groups to understand requirements, recommend technical solutions, and ensure system configurations align with operational needs.

You will help lead Scrum activities, support backlog refinement, and drive validation and testing efforts that contribute to reliable, high‑quality system performance. Core responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving complex issues across applications, databases, network protocols, and REST APIs; monitoring systems for stability and performance; ensuring proactive maintenance; and supporting structured change management processes. This position also contributes to team on‑call coverage, taking one week of responsibility in a recurring 6–7‑week rotation.

Description As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties.

You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Location Primary Location: EMS Edmonton Zone. Eligible to work remotely within Alberta. Compensation Minimum Salary: $40.89 per hour.

Maximum Salary: $55.20 per hour. Required Qualifications Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. 3+ years of experience with computer software and databases. Experience with ASP, .NET, C#, HTML programming with XML, PHP, and Python.

Experience with SQL programming and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Network Protocols and packet structure. Familiarity with REST APIs.

Strong analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in public safety. Experience in a healthcare environment.
