Job Description About The Department Public Market Operations underpins Aberdeen’s investment management activities by delivering trusted, high-quality operational and data services. The team supports front office trading, fund valuation and performance by ensuring investment data is accurate, timely and well governed. Working closely with investment teams, custodians and technology partners, the department focuses on control, continuous improvement and strong client outcomes.
About The Role As an Investment Data Analyst, you will support the management and quality of security and investment data across Aberdeen’s public markets business. Based in Edinburgh and reporting to the Data Management Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring data flows from custodians and vendors are accurate, complete and fit for purpose. You will investigate and resolve data exceptions, support corporate actions processing and respond to queries from investment and operational stakeholders.
This role offers strong exposure to the end-to-end investment data lifecycle and an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in data management. (Permanent role, Edinburgh, blended working.) Key Responsibilities Monitor, validate and maintain investment and security data received from custodians and data vendors. Investigate and resolve data exceptions relating to positions, static data and security attributes. Support the processing and review of corporate actions to ensure accurate downstream impact.
Respond to data queries from front office, operations and other internal teams. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, controls and processes. About The Candidate Experience in investment or security data within an asset management or financial services environment.
Understanding of asset classes such as equities and fixed income. High attention to detail with an analytical and questioning mindset. Comfortable working with data, systems and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.
