We’re seeking an ambitious and driven Interface Manager with industry experience to join our expanding Transportation team in Dublin. This opportunity is for candidates eager to take the next step in their career, delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure projects that shape the future of Ireland’s transport landscape. You will play a leading role in the design and delivery of projects across roads, rail, public transport, greenways, and enabling works, working alongside a collaborative and innovative team.
The Interface Manager is responsible for managing all interface activities throughout the project lifecycle, including logistics, construction integration, and stakeholder coordination. This role ensures seamless collaboration between contracts, systems, and stakeholders to deliver major projects efficiently and effectively. The Interface Manager will also oversee security strategies and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with project objectives, standards and goals.

Multidisciplinary Exposure
Gain hands‑on experience across the entire project lifecycle, from early feasibility and statutory consent through to detailed design, construction support, and contract administration.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects to time, budget and quality.
- Drive best practices in technical activities, processes, and standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction interfaces across packages to achieve fully integrated delivery.
- Act as primary point of contact, coordinating clients, contractors, and authorities (e.g., TII, NTA, Local Authorities) and ensuring clear interface communication.
- Support and coach engineers, contributing to AECOM’s culture of growth and continuous learning.
- Prepare and review design submissions, technical reports, planning applications and tender documentation in line with Irish/EU standards.
- Conduct and review site inspections, surveys, and technical assessments to inform design and construction processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSSEQ and deliverables to scope, time, cost and quality, aligned with AECOM standards.
- Support resource planning, programme management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and digital delivery across all projects.
- Develop the interface strategy, define boundaries between work packages, and document how contracts, systems and stakeholders interact across the lifecycle.
- Review any Interface Agreements to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including TII, National Transport Authority, Local Authorities, and others.
- Ensure clear communication and collaboration with the Client and other interfacing stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure integration across various design and construction aspects.
- Provide technical support for construction supervision, testing, and final acceptance of works.
Qualifications
- Typically 10+ years, with at least 5 years in interface, construction, or project management for high‑value roads, rail or similar projects, or relevant experience in the design and delivery of major roads, major public transport, light rail, rail, or enabling works projects, or similar transferable experience from water, energy, or utilities sectors.
- Degree in engineering, construction, or project management or related discipline; Level 9 Master’s and Chartered status is highly desirable.
- Proven track record leading teams to deliver complex, regulated infrastructure to programme and budget, including contractor coordination and interface management.
- Strong knowledge of Irish and European design standards, planning processes, and statutory requirements.
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven track record in safety‑critical and unionised environments.
- Expertise in driving efficiency, stakeholder management, and resolving unforeseen risks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a collaborative culture and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
Desirable experience / Qualifications
- Project Management Qualifications, such as PMP
- Construction Manager Qualifications, such as CCM
- NEC3/4 ECC Supervision Accreditation
- OSHA Safety Certification
- Six Sigma certification preferred
- Membership in professional bodies (e.g., SCSI, RICS, CIOB, IEI, CIArb)
