Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Power Generation) (Boerne)

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support the design and implementation of control systems for power generation facilities. This role will play a key part in developing control strategies, integrating automation systems, and ensuring reliable plant operations across a variety of energy assets. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and experienced in complex industrial environments, with the ability to lead system design and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities: Design, specify, and implement instrumentation and control systems for power generation facilities (gas, steam, hydro, and renewable energy) Develop engineering deliverables including control logic, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and instrument specifications Lead the design, configuration, and integration of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems Review and approve engineering drawings, control system architectures, and operational strategies Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure seamless system integration Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of control systems Minimum Requirements (Must-Have): ~ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field ~5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering ~ Experience with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems ~ Strong knowledge of control system design, P&IDs, and loop diagrams ~ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications: Experience in power generation or energy industry Familiarity with major control platforms (e.g., Emerson, Siemens, Honeywell, Rockwell) Experience with system integration, commissioning, and startup support Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities #InstrumentationEngineer #ControlsEngineer #PowerGeneration #Automation #SCADA #PLC #DCS #EngineeringJobs #LI-JB1
