Job Description
EPI is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our San Diego Office in the Scripps Ranch Area. Job Summary This Senior Controls Engineer will work with our clients to prepare (I&C) design documents for construction.
The Responsibilities Designing (I&C) systems, construction administration services and witnessing of commissioning/testing. Perform Field investigations to gather information for existing facility upgrades/modifications. Setting up industrial communication protocols.
PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA system planning, designing, some programming, and upgrading. Developing drawings and specifications for construction including network communication block diagrams, control panel details, wiring termination diagrams, instrument location plans, and instrument installation details. and Electrical Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Equipment selection, cost estimating, and equipment layout.
The Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and 5+ years of experience in PLC design/programming and HMI or SCADA configuration. In lieu of a college degree, additional experience will be considered. Working knowledge of (I&C) wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, switchgear, and motor controls and interface with PLC controls.
Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols. Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software. US Citizenship is required A registered California professional engineer is preferred.
Wastewater experience preferred Compensation & Benefits The expected salary range for the position is $90,000-$165,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions.
