Overview

Our client, a national public body responsible for protecting and promoting the historic environment, is seeking two Insight Analysts to support evidence‑led policy development and evaluation.

Working under the guidance of a Senior Insight Analyst and alongside policy colleagues, the successful candidates will combine existing and newly sourced datasets to generate clear, actionable insight. The roles will contribute to analysis and evaluation across the policy cycle, presenting findings in plain English and using effective visual communication.

These opportunities would suit analytical professionals with strong data‑handling skills, sound judgement and an interest in the historic environment and its wider social, political and environmental context.

Responsibilities

• Combine and analyse existing and new datasets relating to the historic environment and its wider context.
• Produce clear, actionable insight to support policy development and organisational decision‑making.
• Clean, join, document and quality‑check data from multiple sources.
• Contribute to proportionate evaluation activity across the policy cycle.
• Synthesise evidence from different sources and identify relevant findings and trends.
• Present analytical findings in plain English.
• Create clear and effective data visualisations.
• Work with policy colleagues and senior analysts to support high‑quality research and analysis.
• Maintain accurate documentation and appropriate data‑quality standards.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver work within agreed timescales.

Requirements

• A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrable aptitude for analysis and evidence synthesis.
• Good data‑handling skills, including cleaning, joining and documenting datasets.
• Understanding of data quality and its importance in analytical work.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
• Awareness of the historic environment sector and its policy context.
• Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and accessibly.
