This is the job

More than data. Be the insight behind the decision.

As an Insight Analyst at the AA, you will use data, analysis and technology to help our teams make better decisions for our customers and our business. This is a hands-on, mid-level role where you will take ownership of analytical challenges, uncover meaningful insight and turn it into clear recommendations that people can act on.

But this role is about more than what happens behind the screen. You will build trusted relationships with stakeholders, get close to the challenges facing the business, ask the right questions and confidently bring your insight into conversations with people at all levels. You will work across teams to influence thinking, solve problems and make a tangible difference, while continuing to grow your technical and commercial capability.

If you are an analyst who enjoys both the technical challenge of finding the answer and the human challenge of bringing people with you, this is an opportunity to make your analysis count.

What will I be doing?
  • Own analytical questions from initial problem definition through to insight and recommendation, using data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and areas for action.
  • Deliver high quality analysis using tools including Python and SQL, applying appropriate statistical and modelling techniques to solve business problems.
  • Build clear and engaging Power BI reporting and visualisations that enable stakeholders to understand performance and make informed decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand their challenges, translate them into analytical requirements and confidently communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI Developers and Data Engineering colleagues to develop insight led data products and ensure the quality and availability of the data underpinning your analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the team by sharing knowledge, improving analytical approaches and looking for better ways to turn data into business value.
What do I need?
  • Demonstrable experience in an Insight Analyst, Data Analyst or comparable analytical role, with the capability to independently take ownership of problems and drive them towards a solution.
  • Strong hands-on Power BI experience, including creating reporting and visualisations that turn complex information into accessible and meaningful insight.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder partnering skills, with the confidence to explain complex analysis clearly, influence conversations and present insight to stakeholders at different levels of an organisation.
  • Practical coding and analytical experience using Python, alongside SQL skills and the confidence to work with large and complex datasets.
  • A sound understanding of analytical and statistical techniques, with exposure to modelling approaches such as regression, clustering or classification.
  • A collaborative, curious and proactive approach, with the judgement to ask the right questions, challenge constructively and work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
