INR 197_ Data Engineer/Analyst (E-Commerce)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Engineer/Analyst with a strong background in e-commerce to join our team for a client engagement. The ideal candidate will bring an investigative mindset, with the ability to assess current data flows, identify gaps, and drive improvements from the ground up. This role requires someone who can audit existing systems, ask the right questions, and ensure data accuracy by tracing issues to their source, while collaborating across teams to build reliable and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing data flows, pipelines, and reporting systems within the client’s e-commerce ecosystem. Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and root-cause issues, and recommend strategic improvements. Design and implement scalable data models, pipelines, and reporting frameworks aligned with business needs.

Integrate and unify data across multiple systems, including ERP, storefronts, shipping, and accounting platforms. Develop intuitive dashboards and reports to support decision-making for business and operational teams. Establish robust data validation processes and governance standards to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Automate reporting workflows and implement scheduled data pipelines for efficiency and scalability. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, fulfillment, and development teams to align data initiatives. Analyze system logic and backend processes to validate data accuracy at the source.

Provide actionable insights and proactively highlight trends, anomalies, and risks. Assist in hiring, training, and supervising team members as per client policies. Requirements 3 - 6 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or related roles.

Strong understanding of e-commerce and ERP data structures, including orders, inventory, fulfillment , and pricing models. Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (MySQL preferred). Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI (preferred), Tableau, or Looker.

Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for data processing and automation. Familiarity with ETL tools or pipeline frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt ) is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret backend code (e.g., Python, Node.js, PHP) to understand data generation and transformations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data integrity and reliability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
