Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Whether onsite or office based all colleagues have a key part to play in delivering this critical transport infrastructure project. Location: Birmingham The Immigration Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the HR function, with a focus on managing immigration processes and ensuring compliance with visa and sponsorship requirements. Responsibilities Manage and supervise a coordinator to ensure immigration data is regularly updated, including planned sponsorships and visa expiry dates.
Welcome new international joiners and ensure completion of all required HR documentation. Facilitate employee orientation and integration into project teams. Provide support in employee relations matters involving international staff.
Liaise with parent companies and the Home Office to arrange visas and sponsorships for project personnel. Monitor changes in immigration law, policies, and procedures, providing early warnings and updates to the HR Senior Leadership Team (HRSLT). Participate in HR audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Qualifications Experience of global mobility and working with an ex-patriate workforce is a plus. Experience in managing. Understanding of BBV visa strategy.
Strong management and leadershipabilities, particularly in multicultural and diverse team environments. In-depth knowledgeof UK immigration laws and sponsorship processes, with practical experience in visa handling and compliance. Fluency in Englishis essential;French language skillsare a valuable asset.
