Hydraulic Engineer (Calgary)

Position Hydraulic Engineer I Pay Rate: $50-$54/hr on T4 | Inc: $58-$60/hr Location: Calgary AB / Edmonton AB (Hybrid) Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension) High Level Description: This position provides hydraulic engineering expertise relating to pipeline and facility hydraulic design in support of projects, balancing function, cost, safety, and operational reliability. The role applies liquids hydraulic practice to solve project‑level problems and deliver fit‑for‑purpose design outcomes. Key Accountabilities Performs or oversees pipeline and facility hydraulic design and analysis across the full project lifecycle.

Supports hydraulic and scoping analyses for early‑stage project decisions. Applies practical system knowledge with expertise in core discipline (steady state, transient, thermal). Serves as the System Design lead in liquid hydraulics for assigned projects.

Provides technical oversight to external engineering consultants. Communicates complex technical topics clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Requirements Engineering degree in applicable discipline or equivalent.

Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation or equivalent. Four or more years of progressive experience in engineering related to liquid pipeline and facility design.

Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex problems. Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Preferred : Experience with hydraulic modelling tools such as Fathom, Pipeline Optimizer, and Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) or equivalent.
