Company Description Dau is a martech agency specializing in SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), paid media, creative and tech services to 100+ brand clients across India. We help brands improve visibility, acquire demand efficiently, and scale in a controlled manner. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sector 45, Gurgaon.
The responsibilities include overseeing all HR operations, developing, managing recruitment and talent acquisition, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager will collaborate with management to design employee programs, monitor performance management processes, and handle employee relations to ensure a positive work environment. What you will own: โ End-to-end hiring across all departments - sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer closures. โ Bi-annual appraisal cycles KRA frameworks per role, performance reviews, and merit discussions with leadership. โ Retention tracking - flag risks early, support career conversations, and work with managers on team health. โ Offboarding and compliance - documentation, NDA enforcement, asset recovery, and exit interviews. โ PIPs and performance management - structured, documented, and legally sound. โ Payroll coordination with external finance and payroll vendors - inputs, reconciliation, and query resolution. โ HR ops - Zoho People, attendance, leave management, and asset inventory.
What we are looking for โ 1-3 years in a generalist HR role, preferably at a digital agency, startup, or consulting firm โ Has independently run at least one full appraisal cycle โ Has personally closed hires across functions, not just coordinated interviews โ Direct communicator - comfortable working closely with founders โ Working knowledge of Indian labour compliance - PF, ESIC, gratuity, termination law โ Hands-on with Zoho People or a comparable HRMS โ Has handled terminations and offboarding with proper documentation โ Comfortable owning the function independently without a team below What this role is not โ A coordination role - we need someone who owns outcomes, not manages calendars. โ A second chair - you will be the only HR person; the role needs full ownership from day one. โ A process-heavy environment - we move fast and expect the same from HR.
