Job Description
CBR is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious HR Truck Driver to join our transport and logistics team. This is a full-time position based in Yennora, NSW 2161. As an HR Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy rigid (HR) vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently across routes.
This role is critical to maintaining our reputation for reliable delivery services whilst adhering to strict safety and compliance standards within the road transport industry.
Key responsibilities
Operate heavy rigid trucks in a safe and professional manner, complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations
Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet customer deadlines and service level agreements
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is roadworthy and maintain accurate records
Load, secure and unload cargo appropriately, ensuring goods are protected and weight distribution is correct
Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery documentation and GPS tracking records as required by regulatory standards
Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues
Adhere to fatigue management rules and work within maximum driving hour limits as per transport regulations
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and immediately report any mechanical issues or defects
Maintain a clean and organised vehicle both inside and out
Contribute to a strong safety culture by reporting hazards and near misses, and participating in safety briefings
What we're looking for
Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licensee
Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
Minimum of 2 years' recent experience driving heavy rigid vehicles in a commercial transport environment
Strong knowledge of road safety rules, fatigue management regulations and transport compliance requirements
Excellent vehicle handling skills and a proven track record of safe driving with no serious traffic violations
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks including loading and unloading cargo
Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to attendance and meeting service standards
Basic computer literacy for logbook entries, GPS navigation and documentation systems
Preferred: Experience with electronic logbooks or telematics systems, forklift certification, or knowledge of dangerous goods transport
