Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be partnering exclusively with an engineering organisation, on the appointment of a Head of HR Operations.
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role operating at the heart of a growing, PE-backed organisation. Sitting at Group level and partnering closely with the CFO, CHRO and Executive Team, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the strategic HR partner to all Group corporate functions, building trusted relationships with senior leaders and shaping people plans aligned to functional priorities.
- Lead workforce planning, organisational design, capability development and succession activity across Group functions.
- Provide proactive insight on people data, trends and risks to inform leadership decision-making.
- Oversee the HR Executive & HR Operations team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and alignment with the HR operating model.
- Own and manage the Group Reward & Benefits portfolio - including pensions, healthcare, life assurance and provider relationships - with responsibility for consolidation, benchmarking and annual pay/bonus cycles.
- Provide second-line oversight of complex and high-risk ER cases escalated from business units, ensuring consistency, compliance and effective risk management.
- Lead or support TUPE, restructures, senior-level ER matters, and HR due diligence for M&A activity.
- Act as HR project lead for assigned transformation workstreams owning deliverables, risks and people-change activity.
- Maintain Group HR policies, governance, and statutory reporting obligations including Gender Pay Gap reporting and future pay transparency requirements.
- Partner closely with Legal, Finance, Payroll and external advisors to ensure robust governance and high-quality people outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- Strong employment law expertise with a track record of managing complex, high-risk ER cases including TUPE, restructures and senior-level matters.
- Experience leading Reward & Benefits activity at Group level, including provider management, job evaluation and pay governance.
- Demonstrable experience delivering HR workstreams within transformation, integration or operating-model change programmes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at ExCo and Board level.
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent senior HR experience (essential).
- Resilient, commercially astute and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment with high expectations.
