We are seeking a highly organised, professional, and compassionate Home Administrator to join our friendly nursing home team in Wolverhampton.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a people-focused environment and wants to play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy nursing home. As the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and professionals, you will help create a welcoming and professional environment while providing essential administrative support to the Home Manager and wider team.

About the Role

As Home Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the home's administration processes, maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring efficient communication across the service.

You will work closely with management, care staff, residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure the home operates effectively and delivers outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the nursing home.
  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, relatives, and external professionals.
  • Answer telephone enquiries and respond to emails professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and confidential documentation.
  • Support admissions, discharges, and resident onboarding processes.
  • Assist with staff administration, including onboarding paperwork, training records, and personnel files.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, and other financial administration duties.
  • Maintain compliance records in line with CQC and company requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare documentation, and take minutes when required.
  • Support payroll and timesheet administration.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals, local authorities, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure data protection and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Professional and confidential approach to handling information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Previous experience working within a nursing home, care home, healthcare, or social care environment

  • Knowledge of CQC regulations and care sector compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll administration, invoicing, or financial records
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related qualification
  • Understanding of GDPR and confidential record management
