OPEN POSITION: High School English Teacher (Maternity Leave Cover)

Summary:

Lincoln High School requires a full-time English Teacher. The position offers flexibility regarding the start date, with the possibility of starting in November 2026 or February 2027.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification appropriate to the subject and grade level.

Languages:

• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• Experience teaching English at the High School level.
• Experience with IB Literature HL/SL required.

Preferred:

• Experience teaching in an IB setting.
• Experience working with diverse learners and using differentiated instruction strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with school standards and learning objectives.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, communication, student engagement, and academic growth.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student learning.
• Support diverse learners through differentiated instruction and appropriate learning strategies.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Work hours:

• 7:45–4:15 daily, Monday through Friday

Start Date:

• November 2026 or February 2027
