Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Clean Harbors, a leader in environmental and industrial services throughout North America, is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy-duty machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, environmental protection, and mechanical excellence. By joining our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational effectiveness of our fleet and machinery, helping us serve clients while upholding our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Conduct routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on all types of trucks and heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, drivelines, brakes, and hydraulics. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults effectively using both manual tools and diagnostic software. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental laws in maintenance practices. Document and maintain records of maintenance and repair work. Assess vehicles and equipment for additional safety or service needs and communicate these to management.

Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools while following appropriate safety measures. Stay current with technology advances and mechanical processes applicable to diesel machinery and environmental service vehicles. Proficient in mechanical repair tools and diagnostic software Strong understanding of diesel engine functionality and components Ability to adhere to safety and environmental regulations Excellent problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k ASE Diesel Certification highly desirable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus
