Head of Infrastructure Engineering About the Company Pioneering cloud infrastructure company Industry Information Technology and Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Head of Infrastructure to lead the design, deployment, and operations of cutting-edge AI and HPC infrastructure. This pivotal role involves driving the end-to-end process of global-scale, bare-metal infrastructure, with a focus on scalability, performance, and resiliency. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting GPU-dense clusters, aligning hardware roadmaps with procurement strategies, and defining infrastructure standards to support large-scale AI/ML workloads. As the Head of Infrastructure, you will lead a team of elite engineers and be at the forefront of emerging compute technologies, ensuring the infrastructure meets the demands of the most challenging workloads. Applicants for the Head of Infrastructure position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' hands-on infrastructure engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior technical leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deploying large-scale GPU clusters, expertise in high-performance networking, and a strong background in server architecture and high-performance storage platforms. Familiarity with datacenter-specific infrastructure and experience in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment are essential. The role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, and a deep understanding of how AI and machine learning frameworks impact system performance. Preferred experience includes a background in a neocloud environment, hyperscale organization, or GPU and compute hardware manufacturing.
