Job Description

Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a small charitable Housing Association in London who are looking to source a Head of Housing & Leasehold on a six-month fixed term contract. The role is paying upwards of Β£64,000 per annum (pro rata). There is hybrid working available, with the expectation of increased office presence to begin with.


The appointed candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for housing management, leasehold services, service charge oversight and assurance, resident engagement, tenancy sustainment, income collection, neighbourhood management and customer services across the organisation.


The range of function which are covered include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisations housing management and leasehold strategies
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organisation
  • Ensure housing services align with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements and resident priorities
  • Support the Chief Executive and Board with strategic advice and performance reporting
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and resident-focused service delivery
  • Lead all aspects of tenancy management including allocations, lettings, tenancy sustainment, anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood management
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leasehold management service
  • Ensure compliance with leasehold legislation and best practice
  • Oversee the service charge cycle – estimates, actuals, apportionment queries, billing accuracy and resident explanations – working with Finance to ensure demands are accurate, transparent and properly controlled
  • Develop productive relationships with the Council, local agencies, contractors and community organisations


Experience and skills required:

  • Significant senior management experience within social housing
  • Proven experience leading housing management services
  • Credible experience overseeing leasehold and service charge services and leaseholder relations – including the service charge cycle, apportionment queries and billing accuracy – working with Finance to ensure demands are accurate and well controlled
  • Experience of leading teams and delivering organisational change
  • Experience of working with boards, committees or governance structures
  • Experience of resident engagement and customer-focused service improvement
