Freshwater Christian College is seeking an inspiring Head of English to lead our dynamic faculty. This is a pivotal middle‑management position that combines high‑level strategic oversight with the joy of classroom teaching. You will be instrumental in shaping the literacy landscape of our College, mentoring a dedicated team of educators, and ensuring our students achieve academic excellence within a supportive, faith‑based environment.

Nature of Appointment\n

Commencing 15 January 2027, this position is full‑time. This role includes an active classroom teaching component. A dedicated non‑contact time allowance and a financial leadership loading are provided in recognition of the added responsibilities of this position. Relocation allowance may be available.

Essential Criteria\n

• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or the ability to obtain registration.
\n
• A firm commitment to affirming and modelling the College’s Statement of Faith, Freshwater Standards, and Staff Code of Conduct.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in the English Australian Curriculum and QCAA Senior Syllabuses.
\n
• Proven ability to lead a team, interpret complex data sets, and manage departmental resources effectively.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a diverse community of students, parents, and staff.
\n

Highly Regarded\n

\n
• Postgraduate qualifications in Education or Leadership.
\n
