The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the entire technical stack and product architecture, serving as the primary engineering leader. This includes building, scaling, and maintaining production systems across AWS infrastructure, backend services, and frontend applications. The role also involves developing full-stack features, leading system design decisions, and managing infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response. The Head of Engineering will work closely with product and business teams to ensure that technical decisions align with business outcomes and will be expected to mentor and build a high-performing engineering team over time. The ideal candidate will have a background of at least 7 years in software engineering, with a strong focus on full-stack expertise, and a proven track record of owning production systems in startup environments. Proficiency in modern web technologies, particularly TypeScript, Node.js, and React, is essential, as is experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud-native systems. The role requires a candidate with a strong sense of ownership, independent decision-making, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in early-stage startups or founder-level roles, as well as a preference for those with a background in data-intensive or B2B SaaS platforms, is also noted.
