Head of Engineering

Head of Engineering (BBBH1098) Rotherham, England Salary: GBP 50,000 - GBP 50,000 per annum We are delighted to be supporting a well known name in South Yorkshire manufacturing with the recruitment of a Senior member of their Engineering team. The role Managing, training and developing the Engineering Technicians Ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met within the Engineering Department Manage training of your team using a skills matrix and plan training to improve skill levels as needed. Lead the team by example, spending time with them on the job to pass on your knowledge Ensure all works are to a good standard and your teams leave work areas in a presentable condition, and hand back forms are completed as required.

Generate and deliver toolbox talks as required Plan work for your team utilising CMMS system and ensure your team complete reports as required. Manage breakdowns to ensure a satisfactory solution is found in a timely manner and external department heads are kept up to date. Manage financial and labour budgets and complete the necessary budget spreadsheets.

Provide technical backup for day and shift engineers. Provide out of hours telephone support. Attend call outs when necessary.

Generate / Revise PPMs to better maintain equipment. Assist with Projects and generation of CEA/RFAs as required. Stand in for engineering managers and Head of Engineering as required.

Manage contractors, ensuring their RAMS are correct before attending site, and work is completed to a good standard. Issue Permits where necessary and perform risk assessments as required to ensure work gets completed safely. Cooperate with compliance related contractors and ensure actions are completed promptly and to a good standard.
