The Opportunity We are looking for an exceptional Head of Development to lead our development platform. This is a rare opportunity for a proven dealmaker with deep Southeast market relationships to join a growing company, shape a department, and build real wealth through meaningful equity participation. This is not a corporate role.
You will work directly with the partners, own the deal pipeline, and build the team around you. What You Will Do Deal Origination and Pipeline Source and evaluate land acquisition opportunities across Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, and select Florida markets Leverage existing broker, landowner, and market relationships to generate consistent deal flow Lead underwriting, due diligence, and deal structuring alongside the partners of the firm Represent Audubon in market relationships and build the company's presence across the Southeast Project Leadership Own the development process from land acquisition through entitlements, design development, and construction handoff Build and manage a team of execution-focused development professionals around you Manage consultant teams including architects, engineers, and permitting specialists Hold the process accountable to schedule, scope, and quality without losing momentum Team Building Hire, develop, and lead a lean team of A-players who share your drive and ownership mentality Create a culture of excellence, accountability, and enthusiasm that mirrors the company's core values Serve as a true business partner to the partners on strategy, growth, and capital deployment Who You Are You are someone who has spent years in the trenches of real estate development across the Southeast and has the relationships, the track record, and the hunger to own a platform.

You have 10+ years of experience in real estate development with a focus on residential product in Southeast markets You have strong, active relationships with brokers and landowners across Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Nashville You have been a key part of a strong development team and are ready to step into the top seat and lead You have closed complex deals and understand the full development lifecycle from site control through delivery You are a natural at rallying people, creating momentum, and keeping teams and consultants moving forward You see the big picture without losing sight of what needs to happen today to keep the project on track You know what you don't know and are confident enough to ask for help when you need it You want a smaller base salary with a bigger piece of the pie, you back yourself and want to be rewarded when the company wins Our Core Values Every person at Audubon is expected to embody these values.
