Requirements

This job position requires a mandatory National Security Clearance. Candidates must meet the essential NATO security requirements to be eligible for certification:

• Nationality: Active citizenship of a NATO member state.
• Background Check: Clean criminal record and a clean financial/legal history.
• Vetting Authorization: Formal consent to personal, professional and security background vetting.

SUPPORT PROTOCOL: Gaman will actively assist the selected candidate throughout the vetting process and fully cover all associated costs. Please note that obtaining and holding this security clearance is a strict requirement for contract signature and onboarding.

01 / Objective & Overview

Leads the design and deployment of AI, machine learning, data analytics and decision-support systems across all Gaman product lines and internal operations. Develops algorithms and architectures for autonomous behaviour, computer vision, signal intelligence, target recognition and operational data fusion. Responsible for AI governance, data architecture, cybersecurity integration and the ethical deployment of AI in defence and dual-use contexts.

Acts as the technical authority for all software systems underpinning Gaman's autonomous platforms.

02 // BASE FORMATION

• > MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering
• > Specialisation in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision or autonomous systems
• > Complementary training in cybersecurity, real-time embedded AI and explainable AI (XAI)
• > Knowledge of defence data standards, NATO AI policy and data governance frameworks

03 / Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years in AI/ML engineering with at least 3 years leading technical AI teams
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and deploying AI systems in safety-critical or defence environments
• Track record in computer vision, object detection/classification, and sensor fusion for autonomous systems
• Experience with edge AI deployment on embedded hardware (Nvidia Jetson, FPGAs, dedicated SoCs)
• Knowledge of data pipeline architecture, MLOps and model lifecycle management
• Experience with cybersecurity, adversarial AI and secure data handling in classified environments is an asset
