About Copia

Copia is a specialist digital agency helping listed companies communicate more effectively with investors.

We combine investor relations expertise with digital strategy, website development, branding, content, video and data. Our clients value us because we understand both the technical requirements of listed-company communications and the commercial realities of engaging investors.

We have a strong track record, an established reputation and a substantial network across the UK capital markets. We are now looking for an experienced salesperson to turn those strengths into a consistent pipeline of new business.

The role

We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Director to lead new-business generation across the UK listed-company market.

This is a genuine new-business role. Your primary responsibility will be identifying opportunities, opening conversations and building a qualified pipeline of listed companies that could benefit from Copia’s services.

You will work directly with the CEO and senior delivery team, with considerable freedom to shape our sales approach. You will not be inheriting a mature sales machine: we need someone capable of helping build one.

The role would suit someone who understands how public companies buy professional services and is comfortable speaking with chief executives, finance directors, investor relations teams, communications directors and corporate advisers.

What we are looking for

  • A proven record of winning new business in a consultative B2B environment.
  • Experience selling to quoted companies, or working within capital markets, investor relations, corporate communications or financial services.
  • Confidence engaging senior executives and advising rather than simply selling.
  • A strong personal network.
  • Evidence of creating pipeline rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.
  • Commercial judgement and the ability to qualify opportunities properly.
  • Persistence, organisation and a willingness to follow opportunities through.

Experience selling digital agencies, investor relations services, financial communications, corporate websites, research, market data or professional advisory services would be particularly relevant.

What success looks like

In the first three months, you will have established a clear target market, a disciplined outreach programme and a credible pipeline of qualified opportunities.

Over time, you will create a predictable flow of new conversations, proposals and client wins, while helping Copia develop a more structured and scalable sales operation.

Why join Copia?

  • A specialist proposition with genuine relevance to listed companies.
  • Direct access to the founder and senior decision-makers.
  • Considerable autonomy over how the sales function is developed.
  • Strong existing relationships across the UK investment community.
  • An uncapped commission structure that rewards meaningful commercial success.
  • The opportunity to play a central role in the next stage of Copia’s development.

How to apply

Please send your CV together with a short note explaining:

  • your experience selling to listed companies or related organisations;
  • examples of new-business pipelines you have built;
  • the types of decision-makers and organisations within your existing network; and
  • what you would aim to achieve during your first 90 days at Copia.

Applications that simply describe account-management experience without demonstrating proactive new-business development are unlikely to be suitable.
