Head of Business Development & Estimation (Civil Construction) Murfreesboro, TN (Hybrid – Office + Job Sites) The Opportunity A rapidly growing civil site development contractor in Middle Tennessee is seeking a Head of Business Development & Estimation to lead revenue growth and oversee estimating operations. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who excels in civil construction estimating, preconstruction, and client development and is ready to step into a position with significant influence on company growth. The company is scaling quickly (projected to grow from ~\$6M to \$10M+ in the next year), creating a unique opportunity to build and lead an estimating function while driving new business.

What You’ll Do Estimating & Preconstruction (Core Focus) Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for civil/site development projects Analyze plans, specs, and project scope for grading, utilities, and site work Identify risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities Develop pricing strategies to win profitable work Sales & Business Development Own and execute the company’s sales strategy Build relationships with developers, general contractors, and key stakeholders Drive new business opportunities and manage the full sales cycle Position the company to win larger, more complex projects Project & Operational Oversight Oversee projects from award through completion Collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and clients Track budgets, schedules, and project performance Leadership & Growth Build and lead the estimating department Hire, train, and mentor estimators as the team grows Establish scalable systems and processes Play a key role in launching and growing a new office location What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating or site development Strong background in grading, utilities, and/or site work projects Proven experience preparing bids and winning work Ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion Experience building relationships with GCs, developers, and decision-makers Leadership mindset with the ability to build and grow a team Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Compensation Strong base salary + Commission (based off % of total project revenue) + Equity Why This Role High-growth environment with strong project pipeline Opportunity to lead and build an estimating department from the ground up Direct impact on company growth and revenue strategy Strong compensation with meaningful upside #J-18808-Ljbffr
