About the Role

The Group Financial Accountant is a key member of the Group Finance team, responsible for overseeing Treasury and Tax activities while providing financial planning and performance analysis to support business objectives. The role ensures effective cash and liquidity management, compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements, and delivery of high-quality financial reporting and forecasting. Working closely with stakeholders across the Group, the postholder will play a key role in driving financial control, governance and informed decision-making.


The Role


Treasury

  • Oversee preparation and review of weekly cash flow reporting, ensuring accurate forecasting, variance analysis and reporting of liquidity positions to senior management
  • Oversee foreign exchange hedging activities across the Group, including hedge accounting, effectiveness testing, financial reporting and compliance with Treasury policy
  • Manage day-to-day banking relationships and Group cash flow to ensure liquidity objectives are met
  • Maintain internal controls across Tax and Treasury processes, ensuring compliance with policy, regulatory requirements and governance standards
  • Coordinate intercompany funding arrangements, including loan administration, interest charging, balance settlement and treasury policy compliance


Taxation

  • Implement the Group's established tax strategy, including relevant reliefs and transfer pricing arrangements
  • Liaise with finance managers, tax auditors and consultants across the UK and internationally on preparation of annual corporation tax computations and deferred tax schedules for the holding company and subsidiaries


Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare cashflow and balance sheet budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting
  • Prepare and report on monthly foreign exchange impact
  • Prepare and manage KPI dashboards


The Person

  • Member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, ICAEW, ICAS or a comparable institute, qualified through a medium or large accountancy firm
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Post-qualification experience at financial accountant level within a manufacturing environment, or an acceptable equivalent
  • Professional experience preparing or reviewing tax computations and returns, with knowledge of deferred taxation
  • Experience coordinating with auditors, tax advisors and corporate lawyers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
  • Ability to develop financial plans, schedules and controls, including budgets, forecasts and profitability reporting
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad
