Nephrocare is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory and diagnostic facilities (Carepath India), a fully stocked pharmacy (Caremed India), and advanced radiological equipment for accurate diagnosis and management. It also provides daycare surgeries such as AV fistula and perm cath creation at affordable costs, along with a cafeteria serving renal-friendly cuisine. Nephrocare aims to deliver complete, high-quality renal care at accessible prices for all patients.
Role Description The Group Chief Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata, responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions for Nephrocare India and its associated entities.

This role includes managing the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, and supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking operations. The Group Chief Accountant will monitor compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, while coordinating statutory audits and supporting regulatory filings. Day-to-day tasks involve leading the finance team, reviewing reconciliations and journal entries, analyzing financial performance, preparing budgets and forecasts, and providing financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

The role also includes implementing process improvements, supporting cost optimization initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in financial accounting and reporting, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and management of general ledger activities.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable accounting standards, taxation, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid skills in Excel and other financial tools.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a finance team, with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or equivalent, and several years of senior accounting or finance leadership experience.
  • Background in healthcare or multi-entity organizations is an advantage, along with a demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality.
