Group Accountant

\n About the role:\n
\n

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of accounting for a portfolio of businesses within the group, with responsibility for month-end close, balance sheet integrity and management reporting. You'll also contribute to broader group finance activities, cross-train across other businesses in the group, and provide support and coverage where needed.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced accountant who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle and working across a diverse group of businesses.

\n Key Responsibilities:\n
\n

\n
\n
• Take primary accounting ownership for your allocated business(es)
\n
\n
• Own month-end close, management reporting and balance sheet integrity
\n
\n
• Work closely with transactional colleagues to oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
\n
\n
• Prepare budgets and forecasts
\n
\n
• Own business-level tax compliance, including BAS, FBT and payroll tax
\n
\n
• Coordinate audit requirements, including supporting schedules and audit requests
\n
\n
• Maintain strong financial controls and meet group reporting requirements
\n
\n
• Analyse financial results and provide clear commentary on performance
\n
\n
• Support working capital management - inventory, receivables, payables and cash flow
\n
\n
• Identify and implement improvements across finance processes and systems
\n
\n
• Cross-train across other businesses in the group to provide coverage and support
\n
\n
• Work collaboratively as part of a broader finance team
\n
\n

\n
\n What We Are Looking For:\n
\n

\n
\n
• CA/CPA qualified, or working towards completion
\n
\n
• Strong financial and management accounting experience
\n
\n
• Experience managing month-end and balance sheet processes
  
\n
• Sound knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements
\n
\n
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
\n
\n
• Strong Excel and accounting systems capability
\n
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely reporting
\n
\n
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider finance team
\n
\n
• A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
\n
\n
