The Role

We're looking for a motivated Group Accountant to join our finance team. In this key role, you'll deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, support group consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, and provide analysis that helps drive business performance and growth.

The role will be based in our brand new office in Knutsford with hybrid working arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the preparation of monthly Group consolidated accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Review management accounts, providing insights to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Support internal and external audits, statutory accounts, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Provide support and development for the Group consolidation system (Cognos).
  • Maintain Group accounting policies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Partner with finance and business teams to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
  • Deliver financial analysis, modelling, and investment appraisals to support strategic decisions.

What We're Looking For

  • Professional qualification in accounting (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Strong financial consolidation, reporting, and IFRS knowledge & experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial controls.
  • Previous experience within a group accounting team is preferable, but not a must.
  • Proficient in financial systems and consolidation tools (Cognos desirable).
  • Analytical, numerate, and detail-oriented.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to challenge assumptions, interpret results, and support decision-making.
  • Skilled in financial modelling and working collaboratively across teams.
