GRID Manager

Job Summary The GRID Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily editorial grid, managing content flow, and ensuring the timely delivery of news, videos, and graphics across all digital platforms (Website, App, YouTube, and Social Media) for Republic Digital. This role is a central link between the editorial desk, field reporters, video editors, and digital publishers to ensure a seamless "360-degree" coverage of stories. Key Responsibilities * Grid Planning & Management: Actively build and maintain the daily editorial grid (schedule of news segments, stories, and live reporting), prioritizing breaking news and exclusive content. * Digital Output Control: Act as the final gatekeeper for news publishing.

Review and approve headlines, social media posts, thumbnails, and video packages before they go live. * Real-Time Coordination: Work with input editors and field journalists to ensure stories are filed on time. Coordinate with video editors for fast-turnaround video content. * Cross-Platform Synchronization: Ensure that content from Republic TV's linear broadcast is adapted for digital platforms and that digital-exclusive content is prominently featured. * Content Optimization: Ensure all content is SEO-friendly, engaging, and follows the editorial guidelines and tone of the Republic Media Network. * Breaking News Deployment: Manage the rapid dissemination of breaking news across all platforms, optimizing for maximum reach and engagement. * Monitoring & Performance: Monitor competitors and digital trends. * Analyze daily traffic and engagement metrics to adapt the grid for better performance. Required Skills & Qualifications * Experience: 2-4+ years of experience in a digital newsroom or a high-paced digital news media environment. * Editorial Judgment: Strong understanding of news, ability to identify a story, and impeccable headline writing skills. * Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and social media platforms (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). * Speed & Accuracy: Ability to work under extreme pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate news in a fast-paced environment. * Leadership: Experience in leading or guiding a team of desk producers or digital reporters. * Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field
