Position Overview
Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer to launch their career with EMtek. Working alongside a collaborative and experienced engineering team, you will receive ongoing support and mentoring while being challenged to develop your technical capabilities. From day one, you will contribute to real project outcomes across the resources and bulk materials handling sectors.
This is afull-time positionbased in ourPerth office.
Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer, your duties will include but not be limited to:
Assist in the delivery of structural and civil engineering design tasks across a range of projects, including steel structures, concrete foundations, platforms, walkways, stairs, and bulk materials handling infrastructure
Prepare engineering calculations, sketches, and design documentation under the guidance of senior engineers
Develop familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and industry design codes applicable to strucutral and bulk materials handling engineering, such as AS4100, AS3600 and AS1170
Support senior engineers in structural analysis activities and develop exposure to analysis software such as SpaceGass and Ansys.
Represent EMtek professionally in all client and stakeholder interactions
Undertake site visits to client facilities as required, building site awareness and practical engineering judgment.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Up to 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a mechanical engineering role (including internships or vacation work)
Foundational understanding of structural engineering principles including statics, mechanics of materials, steel and concrete design
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering theory to practical challenges
Excellent communication skills. Both written and verbal and with the ability to work effectively within a team
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and ask for help when needed
Genuine interest in the resources, mining, or heavy industrial sector
