GL specialist (f/m)

Your tasks

We are looking for a GL specialist to join our Finance Shared Service Center. In this role, you will be responsible for General Ledger processes across multiple Group companies, while actively supporting month-end closing, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Execute and maintain General Ledger processes.

  • Participate in monthly, semi-annual, and year-end closing activities.
  • Post accruals, provisions, prepayments, and manual journal entries.
  • Manage and maintain cost objects, including Cost Centers, WBS elements, and Internal Orders.
  • Perform balance sheet and profit & loss account reconciliations and analyses.
  • Prepare financial and management reports for Group reporting purposes.
  • Reconcile and analyse intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Cooperate closely with AP, AR, Controlling, HR, and international finance teams.
  • Participate in finance transformation, standardisation, automation, and process improvement projects.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or full-cycle accounting.
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of month-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken (minimum B2 level).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy, accountability, and independence.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work effectively in an international environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a Shared Service Center (SSC/BPO) or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Cognos or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Power Query, Power Automate, or other automation tools.
  • Participation in migration, transformation, or ERP implementation projects.
