Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Job Description – GIS Developer (3–5 Years Experience) Role Overview: We are seeking a GIS Developer with 3–5 years of experience to build and enhance geospatial applications. The candidate should have strong development skills along with GIS domain expertise. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop GIS-enabled applications and APIs Implement GIS features including: Drawing and editing polygons and spatial objects Layer visualization and interaction Work with master data and ensure data integrity across systems Integrate GIS services with web and mobile applications Configure GIS servers: Publish and manage layers and services Set up workspaces and data sources Deploy and maintain GIS solutions on Azure cloud Collaborate with UI/UX teams to build map-based interfaces Required Skills: Strong programming experience in one or more: JavaScript / TypeScript .NET / Java / Python Experience with GIS platforms: ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar Hands-on experience with: Map rendering libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox GL, OpenLayers) Spatial data formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles) Experience working with GIS servers (GeoServer / ArcGIS Server) Knowledge of cloud deployment, preferably Microsoft Azure Strong understanding of APIs and microservices architecture Good to Have: Experience with real-time geospatial tracking systems Knowledge of spatial indexing and performance optimization Exposure to DevOps practices in cloud environments
