Job Description

Job Purpose The Sourcing & Development Leader for Electrical & Electronics (E&E) commodities will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing the supplier base for electrical and electronic components, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality compliance, timely delivery, and technology readiness. The role requires strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of E&E parts, and cross‑functional leadership to support new product development, localization, and cost-reduction initiatives. Key Responsibilities 1.

Commodity Strategy & Supplier Management Develop and implement the commodity strategy for electrical and electronics parts (e.g., wiring harnesses, sensors, PCBs, connectors, controllers, switches, relays, lighting components, EV electronics, etc.). Identify, assess, and develop global and local suppliers for current and future business needs. Conduct supplier audits , capability assessments, and risk evaluations.

Drive supplier consolidation , capability enhancement, and long‑term partnerships. 2. Cost Management & Negotiation Lead commercial negotiations , annual price revisions, long-term agreements, and cost‑reduction programs. Conduct should-cost analysis , benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives.

Support VA/VE activities to reduce product cost without compromising performance. Monitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and geopolitical risks impacting E&E materials. 3. New Product Development (NPD) & Localization Lead sourcing activities for new programs: RFQ, supplier selection, PPAP readiness, tooling approval.

Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure smooth new part introduction . Identify and drive localization opportunities to reduce cost and dependency on imports. Ensure suppliers meet design, validation, and industrialization timelines. 4.

Quality, Delivery & Compliance Collaborate with SQE teams to ensure suppliers meet quality standards , PPAP, APQP, and regulatory requirements. Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (PPM, OTD, cost, service). Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for any supplier issues.

Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, ISO/TS 16949 , and other relevant regulations. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Program Management, and Manufacturing to fulfill sourcing objectives. Participate in cross‑functional commodity councils, technology reviews, and business planning activities.

Lead supplier-business reviews and executive-level presentations. 6. Risk Management & Sustainability Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to capacity, geopolitical factors, technology obsolescence, and raw material availability. Support sustainability initiatives including ESG compliance, carbon footprint reporting, and responsible sourcing .

Key Skills & Competencies Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills. Deep understanding of electrical & electronics components and manufacturing technologies. Knowledge of sourcing processes (RFQ, e-auctions, cost breakdowns, supplier scorecards).

Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management. Experience with tools like SAP/ERP, cost modeling, PPAP/APQP, and project management.

Excellent communication and supplier relationship management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. MBA in supply chain or operations (preferred). 15+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, or commodity management in automotive/EV/electronics industry.

Experience with global sourcing, localization, and high‑volume manufacturing environments. Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost reduction achieved vs. target. Supplier performance (OTD, PPM, service levels).

Successful NPD launches with no delays due to sourcing. Localization & risk mitigation achievements. Compliance with quality and regulatory norms.

Supplier consolidation and capability development progress.
