Job Description - Registered Manager (Nursing Home) Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £80,000 per annum Summary Responsibilities CQC Registered Manager responsibility for the holistic care of residents and overall management of the nursing home Drive continuous service improvement to enhance resident experience and satisfaction Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current and future sector standards and regulatory changes, planning proactively for care and staffing developments Full accountability for care home finances and occupancy levels to meet agreed performance targets Overall responsibility for compliance, safeguarding, complaint management, CQC reporting, incident reporting, health and safety and investigations Provide strong leadership and people development, setting long‑term vision and strategic direction for the service Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Contribute to policy development and lead meetings and service‑wide projects Skills & Experience Communication Confident presenting complex or sensitive information to a wide range of internal and external audiences Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing Able to adapt communication style, influence outcomes and negotiate effectively Regularly advises on complex operational and clinical matters Thinking Style Uses advanced technical, commercial and problem‑solving skills to enhance service delivery Demonstrates long‑term planning, forecasting and strategic thinking Applies conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their wider implications Guides the application of existing policies and supports the development of new approaches Leadership Leads long‑term planning for service sustainability and longevity Visible, collaborative and positive leadership style Strong understanding of motivation, engagement and performance management Joint accountability for profit and loss with senior leadership Delivers impact beyond the immediate service, contributing at organisational level Strong project planning skills involving multiple stakeholders Acts as a role model for organisational values and culture Working with Others Focuses teams on achieving shared goals and outcomes Works closely with trustees and external stakeholders as required Holds overall people‑management responsibility for the service Builds strong, effective internal and external relationshipsShares learning and best practice with peers across other nursing services Essential Qualifications & Experience Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (Adult - Level 1) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), completed or working towards Minimum of 4 years' relevant management experience Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, Essential Standards, infection control, medication management, GDPR, NMC standards and the Mental Capacity Act Proven people‑management experience Experience managing budgets and achieving financial targets Experience working with older people in a supervisory or management capacity In‑depth understanding of dementia care Knowledge of manual handling, food hygiene, health and safety, safeguarding and DoLS Confident IT skills Desirable Educated to degree level or equivalent Experience delivering or overseeing clinical supervision Additional Information All duties must be carried out in line with organisational Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies This role profile outlines the principal responsibilities but is not exhaustive The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires disclosure of all convictions #J-18808-Ljbffr
