This role combines people leadership, project execution, operational oversight, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, technically credible, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities. This person will work closely with the Head of India and US based project management team, leadership and scientists, and engineers to ensure projects remain on track, deliverables meet quality expectations, and team members are supported and developed. The role requires strong communication skills, accountability, and the ability to mentor early-career scientists and interns while helping establish a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead the day-to-day management of the India laboratory and technical team Mentor interns and junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development support Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement Conduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor progress and address challenges Support employee growth through feedback, training, and development opportunities Assist with hiring coordination, onboarding, and team integration efforts as needed Project & Operational Management Partner closely with the Project Manager to ensure timelines, milestones, and deliverables are achieved Help drive execution of project plans across technical and cross-functional teams Track task completion and proactively escalate risks, blockers, or resource constraints Ensure deliverables meet internal quality and scientific standards Help establish and improve operational processes, communication workflows, and team coordination Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between the India team and U.S.-based teams Coordinate across functions to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and timelines Support communication and collaboration across time zones and technical disciplines Help the Head of India and US based leadership maintain visibility into team progress, operational risks, and execution priorities HR & Administrative Oversight Review and coordinate PTO requests and team scheduling Serve as a resource for general employee questions and operational support Help reinforce company policies, expectations, and performance standards Support a positive and professional work environment Qualifications Required Qualifications Advanced degree in a scientific discipline, finance or management 10+ years of professional experience in a scientific, laboratory, or technical environment Previous experience managing or supervising technical or scientific teams Strong organizational and project coordination skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Experience collaborating with U.S.-based teams or international stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members Ability to work onsite in the New Delhi location 5 days a week Preferred Qualifications Startup or high-growth company experience strongly preferred Experience working in multidisciplinary environments involving biology, engineering, software, or data science teams Experience mentoring interns or junior scientists Familiarity with technical project execution
