Long Beach, United States What you’ll do Determine requirements, perform reconnaissance, prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates for healthcare facility projects Perform or direct surveys and investigations to establish baseline design data; evaluate and incorporate findings into design solutions Provide professional engineering advice to peers, subordinates, and administrators; review plans, specifications, and design analyses Perform scheduling, layout of operations, inspection and surveillance of construction materials, methods, and equipment Prepare detailed cost estimates for project funding and bid evaluation Consult with contractor personnel to resolve complex unforeseen problems and latent conditions during construction Develop in-house designs with drawings, specifications, cost estimates, manufacturer cut sheets, and construction documents compliant with building codes and safety standards Establish design criteria for A/E firms; prepare scope of work detailing design and construction objectives Oversee, direct, review, approve and/or reject A/E design deliverables; direct preparation of change order documents Implement and monitor OSHA Life Safety Management goals, hazardous materials/waste management, fire protection, emergency preparedness, and security compliance Prepare correspondence, technical reports, fact sheets, status reports, and schedules for project assignments Requirements All Candidates Must Have Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or related discipline) Minimum 8 years of related engineering experience in construction, facilities, or infrastructure Knowledge of healthcare design including fire codes, building codes, barrier-free design, systems, components, ergonomics, and safety criteria Ability to review and interpret blueprints and specifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite — Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook (required) Familiarity with Patient Centered Care culture in healthcare Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI level) and drug screening Negative TB screening within 90 days of assignment; annual flu vaccination or approved exemption PE — Professional Engineer (any state) Microsoft Project and Revit experience Benefits Our commitment to continuity and stability extends to our team.
