\n General Counsel – International (UK & Ireland/International) – High-Growth Financial Services – Dublin (Hybrid)\n

Conekt Legal is working in close partnership with an ambitious, product-driven financial services business as it enters its next phase of international growth. They are now looking to appoint a General Counsel to take ownership of legal and regulatory strategy across the UK & Ireland and international jurisdictions.

This is a pivotal, executive-level appointment, reporting directly to the International CEO and sitting at the heart of strategic decision-making.

\n

This role would suit an ambitious and driven, commercially minded senior in-house lawyer keen to work in a fast paced and high growth business.

What you’ll be responsible for\n

\n
• Setting and leading the legal and regulatory agenda across multiple jurisdictions
\n
• Acting as a strategic advisor to the executive team and Board
\n
• Guiding the business through regulatory complexity with clear, commercial advice
\n
• Supporting the development and launch of financial products, particularly within consumer finance / instalment lending
\n
• Advising on go-to-market models, partnerships, and distribution strategies
\n
• Playing a central role in high-value commercial negotiations and partnerships
\n
• Overseeing data protection strategy and risk management
\n
• Ensuring strong governance frameworks that support a scaling business
\n
• Acting as a key connector across legal, compliance, and wider business teams
\n

What they’re looking for\n

\n
• A senior, qualified lawyer (NI, England & Wales and/or Ireland)
\n
• Proven experience operating at, or ready to step into General Counsel level
\n
• Strong grounding in financial services regulation (consumer credit experience is a significant advantage)
\n
• Experience working closely with product and commercial teams
\n
• A track record of operating effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments
\n
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial instinctConfidence and credibility to operate at executive and Board level
