Job DescriptionFREELANCE SENIOR IMS-QEHS CONSULTANT Industry Practitioner | IMS-QEHS Leader | Project-Based Consulting Smartedge Consulting is expanding its network of experienced industry practitioners and freelance IMS-QEHS consultants to support client assignments involving IMS implementation, QEHS improvement, audits, compliance and management-system deployment. We are specifically looking for professionals who have substantial industry experience in leadership positions such as QA/QC Head, EHS/ HSE Head, Maintenance Head, Plant/Operations Head, QEHS Head, Quality Head, or similar roles , combined with practical exposure to IMS-QEHS implementation and management systems . WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our ideal consultant is an experienced industry professional who understands how a management system actually works inside an organisation .

The candidate should have: 15+ years of overall industry experience preferred Significant experience in manufacturing / engineering / pharma / chemicals / infrastructure / other industrial sectors Experience in positions such as: QA / Quality Head QC Head EHS / HSE Head QEHS Head Maintenance Head Plant / Operations Head Quality Manager EHS Manager IMS Manager / Management Representative IMS / QEHS Leader Practical exposure to IMS-QEHS implementation, operation, auditing and continual improvement Experience acting as Management Representative / IMS Coordinator / System Leader is highly desirable IMPORTANT We are NOT primarily looking for certification-body auditors or consultants whose experience is limited to ISO documentation and audits. Our preference is for professionals who have actually managed people, processes, operations, risks, compliance and systems inside an organisation. THE EXPERIENCE WE VALUE 1.

IMS-QEHS Experience The candidate should have practical experience with some combination of: ISO 9001 | ISO 14001 | ISO 45001 | IMS | QEHS | EHS | Quality Systems Experience with ISO 50001, ISO 22000, IATF 16949, ISO 17025 or other relevant standards will be an advantage depending on the industry. 3. Leadership / MR Experience Strong preference will be given to professionals who have served as: Management Representative IMS Leader IMS Coordinator QEHS Head Quality Head EHS Head System / Compliance Leader and have been responsible for driving implementation rather than merely maintaining documentation .

WHAT THE CONSULTANT SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO The consultant should be capable of entering a client organisation and practically understanding: What is happening → What should happen → What is missing → How to implement it → How to sustain it. Gap Assessment Understand client operations Review existing systems Identify practical gaps Prioritise risks and actions Develop implementation roadmap IMS-QEHS Implementation Establish / strengthen IMS processes Develop practical procedures and SOPs Establish operational controls Support risk assessments Develop compliance mechanisms Establish records and evidence Guide process owners Drive implementation at site level Audit & Compliance Conduct internal audits Evaluate implementation effectiveness Identify root causes Develop CAPA Verify corrective actions Prepare organisations for certification / surveillance audits Management Systems Leadership Facilitate Management Review Establish objectives and KPIs Support continual improvement Coordinate cross-functional teams Train process owners Mentor junior consultants Interface with senior client management INDUSTRY BACKGROUND Experience in the following sectors is particularly relevant: Engineering & Manufacturing | Automotive | Pharma | Chemicals | Food & FMCG | Infrastructure | Construction & EPC | Power & Utilities | Hospitals | Warehousing & Logistics Candidates with strong sector-specific experience will be considered for assignments matching their industry expertise. THE RIGHT PROFILE We are looking for a person who can say: “I have actually managed the system inside an organisation, not just audited it.” For example: QA Head + ISO 9001/IMS experience → Suitable EHS Head + ISO 14001/45001 experience → Suitable Maintenance Head + IMS / ISO implementation experience → Suitable Plant/Operations Head + IMS-QEHS leadership experience → Suitable Management Representative who drove implementation internally → Suitable Whereas a candidate whose experience is primarily: Certification audits + ISO documentation + clause interpretation without meaningful industry implementation exposure may not be suitable for this requirement.

FREELANCE ENGAGEMENT This is a project-based freelance consulting opportunity . The consultant may be engaged for: Gap assessments IMS-QEHS implementation Internal audits Certification readiness Management Review EHS assessments Compliance assignments Training Corrective-action implementation Short-term consulting interventions Long-term project handholding Engagement may be remote, hybrid or site-based , depending on project requirements. Travel to client locations may be required.
