Founding Mobile Engineer
Nameless Ventures
Job Description
I was supporting Portugal in the World Cup, so it made sense for me to support on this too!
If you've been waiting for a chance to build something from scratch instead of inheriting someone else's codebase, this might be it.
I'm working with a fast-growing fintech building P2P and B2C payments, remittances, and neo-banking for Africa, starting with Kenya. Headquartered in Dubai, with a new European hub in Porto. (Exciting, right?)
You'll be the founding mobile engineer (a Flutter expert), defining how the app is built, how it's tested, how it's deployed, and ultimately setting the standard for every mobile product that follows.
What you'll be doing:
- Architect and build a greenfield Flutter application from scratch.
- Own key technical decisions around state management, navigation, modularization, offline capabilities, and app performance.
- Deliver the first production release to users.
- Build payment capabilities including proximity payments and SoftPOS.
- Establish mobile CI/CD pipelines, staged rollouts, feature flags, and monitoring.
- Work closely with QA to define the testing strategy from day one.
- Play a key role in shaping how AI is embedded into the engineering workflow and product development.
What they're looking for:
- Strong commercial experience building Flutter applications at scale.
- You've personally architected and shipped consumer-facing mobile apps.
- Deep understanding of Flutter, Dart, state management, performance optimization, and offline-first development.
- Solid native iOS/Android knowledge for platform-specific functionality.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and secure mobile development.
- You've been using AI tools in your day-to-day work for over a year and have built AI automations or agents that genuinely save time.
Bonus points if you've worked in fintech, payments, wallets, or you've been an early engineering hire before.
