Founding engineer

#hiring "You're absolutely right, I just made up a number instead of checking your accounting system. Would you like me to..." That's not good enough in finance. If an agent experience is not built right, it becomes a project, instead of being a tool.

Teams need to be able to build their ways of working on top of reliable repeatable tech, instead of being drowned in furiously typing or dictating prompts. This is what we're solving for real businesses at giki.ai. And we're hiring a product engineer for our HSR office in Bangalore.

The role is for someone specifically looking for early-stage startup work. What the role is: - You'd own the loop with us: understand the customer's problem from real conversations, spec the solution and design the experience, test it in real scenarios, ship it, test it with real customers. - Features touch the whole stack: data layer, backend, UI, and the AI inside (schemas, prompts, caches). Current stack mostly TypeScript end-to-end, React on the frontend, Cloudflare Workers on the backend, Gemini doing the AI work. - You'd be the first hire after current founders, we are flexible on what the role and equity.

Who we're looking for: - You're choosing autonomy, customer proximity, and the chance to shape what gets built. Cash is lower than market; equity, title, and scope are conversations we have together. - You want to do this kind of development specifically: software where AI delivers outcomes, not chatbots and not RAG-over-PDFs. - You have some engagement with this kind of work already: experience shipping LLM-backed features, deep knowledge from study or research, or side projects in this direction. - Comfortable in TypeScript, or can be productive in TypeScript fast. We're flexible on where your strengths sit: backend, frontend, the AI layer, system design.

You will have plenty of help setting up to work, and you don't need to be equally good at everything. - Bangalore-on-ground. You're already here, we work in person most days. But if you're sure we should talk, don't let this stop you.

How you grow: - You'd ship to production in week two. Inside a month, you'd own a feature you built, end-to-end: how it works, the experience, the outcome it delivers, the customer it serves. Three months in, you'd be making the calls that matter: what we build, what we cut, when a feature is ready for paying customers, how the product holds together. - You'd grow with the company.
