Job Description

About Scispot

Scispot is the digital brain for modern labs.

Scispot LabOS connects laboratory workflows, samples, instruments, scientific data, quality processes, and AI within one governed operating layer.

We work with high-throughput biotechs, regulated CROs, diagnostics companies, and clinical laboratories. We help these organizations move away from fragmented software, spreadsheets, manual data transfers, and disconnected scientific records.

We do not begin by selling software features. We begin by understanding how the lab works, where work breaks down, and what outcome the customer needs.

The Role

We are looking for a scientist who can understand a complex laboratory workflow, translate it into a digital solution, and confidently demonstrate that solution to a room of scientific and technical leaders.

As a Forward-Deployed Scientist, you will support customers from initial discovery through early adoption.

Before the sale, you will work with Account Executives to understand the prospect’s science, workflows, instruments, data, quality needs, and operating gaps. You will then design and deliver a tailored Scispot demonstration that reflects how the customer actually works.

After the sale, you will turn discovery into a clear solution blueprint. You will work with Customer Success and implementation teams to shape the statement of work. You will also lead product training for scientists, lab operations teams, administrators, and quality stakeholders.

This is not a generic software demo role.

You must be able to speak to scientists as a scientific peer. You must also be comfortable configuring software, presenting live workflows, answering technical questions, and handling unexpected situations during customer calls.

What You Will DoLead scientific discovery
  • Lead technical and scientific discovery with prospects and customers.
  • Understand the customer’s assays, samples, instruments, data, users, and quality processes.
  • Map current workflows from sample intake through experiment execution, instrument output, review, and reporting.
  • Identify manual steps, data gaps, compliance risks, and sources of delay.
  • Separate stated requests from the underlying business and scientific problem.
  • Define the customer’s desired future state and measurable success criteria.
  • Document requirements clearly for Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering.

Design and deliver tailored demonstrations
  • Translate customer requirements into focused Scispot solution demonstrations.
  • Configure workflows, data structures, forms, dashboards, permissions, and automation for demos.
  • Use realistic scientific examples instead of generic product tours.
  • Demonstrate how Scispot supports the customer’s actual sample and data journey.
  • Lead live demos, technical workshops, validation sessions, and solution reviews.
  • Adapt your message for scientists, lab leaders, IT, quality teams, and executives.
  • Answer detailed product, workflow, data, and scientific questions during live calls.
  • Help the Account Executive establish a clear technical and scientific win strategy.
  • Identify product gaps early and avoid commitments that Scispot cannot support.

Shape the solution and implementation scope
  • Convert pre-sales discovery into a clear solution blueprint.
  • Define workflows, user groups, instruments, data sources, reports, and key integrations.
  • Work with Customer Success and implementation leaders to prepare the statement of work.
  • Clarify what is standard configuration, what requires implementation services, and what may require custom engineering.
  • Identify assumptions, dependencies, customer responsibilities, and delivery risks.
  • Ensure that the solution sold can be implemented successfully.
  • Provide a clean and complete handoff from Sales to the post-sales team.

Lead scientific product training
  • Deliver workflow-based product training to customer teams.
  • Train scientists using examples that match their assays and daily laboratory work.
  • Train lab managers on oversight, dashboards, reviews, and operational controls.
  • Train administrators on configuration, permissions, templates, and governance.
  • Support quality teams with relevant audit trail, review, approval, and data-integrity workflows.
  • Create role-based training plans for different customer groups.
  • Run live exercises instead of relying only on feature presentations.
  • Help customers understand both how to use Scispot and why each workflow has been designed in a specific way.
  • Support train-the-trainer programs for larger customer deployments.
  • Review early customer use and identify gaps in understanding or adoption.

Support early customer adoption
  • Maintain continuity between the sales process and implementation.
  • Confirm that configured workflows still match the customer’s scientific needs.
  • Support key workflow reviews, user acceptance sessions, and early go-live activities.
  • Help resolve scientific or workflow questions that require more than standard product support.
  • Work with Customer Success to identify adoption risks.
  • Help customers connect product use to measurable laboratory outcomes.

Build repeatable scientific solutions
  • Develop reusable demo environments for key Scispot customer segments.
  • Build workflow templates for common laboratory use cases.
  • Create scientific discovery guides, demo scripts, training material, and solution playbooks.
  • Help Sales improve scientific qualification.
  • Help Customer Success improve implementation readiness.
  • Share field insights with Product and Engineering.
  • Identify common workflow patterns that Scispot can turn into product capabilities or packaged solutions.

You will own:

  • Scientific and technical discovery.
  • Workflow mapping.
  • Demo solution design.
  • Live technical demonstrations.
  • Scientific objection handling.
