Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role in a friendly, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our catering team, helping to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team where you will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our students, staff, and visitors.
You will assist with food preparation, serving meals, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient service for all customers.
Based at our Park Lane Campus, which is easily accessible and close to the city's transport links, shops, and amenities.
*Actual annual salary for 20 hours, over 37 weeks will be 11,814.08 per annum & hourly rate is 13.45 per hour.
What You Will Do
Assist the Chef Manager in food preparation.
Stock & clean food display
Use of an EPOS till.
Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the caf and cooking areas, including washing up and cleaning of equipment.
Ensure food safety requirements are adhered to at all times and all due diligence records are completed accurately.
Be prepared to work within any of the Colleges outlets.
Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
About You
Hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate or be willing to work toward getting it
- Knowledge of catering and hospitality practices, including food hygiene procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment, including operating tills and handling cash and card transactions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to use initiative, provide excellent customer service, and identify opportunities to promote products and services.
