First Product Hire (Founding PM, CPO trajectory)

Experio AI

BethesdaFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

Company Description Experio AI is building the intelligence layer for high-stakes professional services firms, transforming decades of proposals, contracts, and project experience into accessible institutional knowledge. Powered by IQ1™, Experio deeply understands each firm’s vocabulary, context, and history to surface precise, traceable answers for work where errors create real liability. The platform replaces weeks of manual research with seconds of targeted insight, delivering 95% accuracy with zero hallucination for consulting, accounting, legal, advisory, and other professional services.

Firms choose Experio to unlock hard‑to‑reach expertise, reduce risk, increase revenue, and improve productivity. Experio AI is built by operators with decades of experience inside professional services, for teams that run on knowledge and need it available when it matters most.

Role Description As the First Product Hire at Experio AI, you will act as a founding Product Manager with a trajectory toward future CPO-level leadership. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Bethesda, MD, with flexibility for partial work from home. You will own the product discovery and delivery process end to end: talking with customers and internal stakeholders, defining product strategy, prioritizing the roadmap, and translating complex domain needs into clear product requirements.

Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with engineering, data, and design to ship high-quality features, run experiments, and continuously improve the core intelligence layer and user experience. You will analyze usage data, test hypotheses, refine positioning, and help shape go-to-market narratives, ensuring Experio AI delivers reliable, high-stakes value for professional services firms.

About the role

You'll be Experio Labs' first dedicated Program Manager — the connective tissue between what customers need and what we build. This is a dual-track role: half product ownership (roadmap, cycles, ship quality), half go‑to‑market muscle (customer discovery, sales support, early deployments). You'll work directly with the CEO with weekly 1:1 mentorship, and as the company grows, this role is the natural path to Chief Product Officer.

What you'll do

Product

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap — prioritization, sequencing, trade-offs
  • Run the build cycle end-to-end: specs → sprint planning → QA sign-off → release
  • Define and enforce acceptance criteria; own the definition of "done"
  • Synthesize customer feedback, bug reports, and internal input into a coherent backlog
  • Write clear, scoped PRDs that engineering can execute without hand-holding
  • Track product KPIs; flag regressions and gaps early

Go-to-market

  • Lead structured, recurring customer discovery interviews, synthesized into insight docs
  • Own the feedback loop between sales/prospects and the roadmap
  • Support early deployments: onboard customers, troubleshoot, and stay hands-on until the product can do it without you
  • Build and maintain competitive intel; translate it into positioning and roadmap inputs
  • Partner with sales on demos, objection handling, and RFP responses where product depth matters
  • Define and refine the ICP in collaboration with sales/marketing

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of PM experience, ideally at an early-stage B2B SaaS or technical startup
  • Comfortable being the only PM and doing the work yourself — no delegating to a team yet
  • Fluent with modern GenAI tooling (Claude Code, Claude Design, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) and actively use it to move faster — drafting PRDs, building quick prototypes, synthesizing research, and automating the busywork. This is non-negotiable: we're an AI‑native company and expect you to work like one.
  • Have run customer discovery interviews firsthand, not just read about them
  • Can write a crisp PRD and hop on a call to close a skeptical customer
  • At home in ambiguity, with a bias toward action over process
  • Technical enough to earn engineering trust — you don't need to code, but you need to know when something is a 2-hour fix vs. a 2-week refactor
  • Embrace and understand the AI landscape and where it's heading
  • Bonus: experience with consulting or professional services businesses
  • Remote-friendly; but strong preference from candidates located or willing to relocate in Montgomery County, MD area. Requires ~monthly/quarterly travel for client visits, offsites, and planning sessions
