Fire Protection Engineer

Sterling Design Support Services (SDS2), a unit of iQuasar LLC for one of their clients, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in Baltimore MD. Position : Fire Protection Engineer Location: Baltimore MD Position Type: Onsite Job Responsibilities: Prepare design documents employing a thorough knowledge of industry practices and office standards. Incorporate a thorough understanding of the governing codes and standards affecting the work.

Provide quality control reviews of fire suppression, smoke control, and fire detection and communications systems and life safety designs. Utilize CONTAM, Trane/Trace, Carrier/HAP, Microsoft Office products, CADD, BIM/Revit, and other industry software. Conduct field surveys, conditions assessments, Life Safety Analyses, load analyses, analyses of fire hazards, and cost estimating take-offs.

Code consulting Mentor staff and serve as a technical resource for design issues related to life safety features and fire protection systems. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent. Professional Engineer Licensure, Engineer-In-Training LEED AP or equivalent. (Preferred) Commissioning certification or experience.
