Fire Engineer

Red Chair Recruitment are presently recruiting for a Fire Engineer for our clients in Charleville, County Cork. You will provide fire strategy compliance input for country-wide projects at all stages, including feasibility, planning, permitting, and full design services for design/bid/build and design/build projects. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional with strong communication skills, a passion for technical excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop fire strategies for diverse projects using TGD Part B & M, BS 9999, BS 5588, FM, and NFPA standards.
• Prepare and submit Fire Safety Certificates (FSC) and Disabled Access Certificate (DAC) applications via BCMS.
• Provide internal FSC/DAC consultancy for design and contract administration teams.
• Lead fire strategy discussions with design teams, clients, building control, and fire service.
• Implement insurer requirements to reduce property damage and business interruption risk.
• Support BCAR compliance and prepare fire inspection reports during construction.
• Supervise and mentor graduates on fire engineering principles.
• Perform quality reviews of deliverables, design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor evaluations.
• Assist with project proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified Architect/Architectural Technologist with 5+ years’ experience in fire safety and DAC certification.
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Fire Engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Revit/BIM desirable.
• Familiarity with BCAR and BCMS.

Salary is open to negotiation, based on experiences.
