Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and GL account reconciliations
- Perform monthly operational review/analysis over the financial results prepared using accrual accounting
- Create journal entries and adjustments as needed to ensure monthly statements are accurate and complete
- Assist with completing month end and quarter end tasks as required
- Review and test internal controls, analyze internal controls processes, and address any deficiencies
- Communicate with operational staff and/or leader regarding any issues found
- Assist with supporting documents as requested by leaders and/or auditors
- Assist with preparing financial statements and other public disclosure documents
- Assist with IT automation initiatives as required
- Other duties as required or directed
Education And Experience
- Minimum 2 years with a publicly traded company would be an asset
- Prior real estate accounting/property management experience would be an asset
- Recent CPA or working towards designation considered an asset
- Knowledge of business best practices
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency with Office 365 (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Knowledge with accounting software and working in a fast-paced computer environment.
- Sound analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
Non-Technical Requirements
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
- Ability to adapt to new software
Additional Qualifications
- Any previous software conversion experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, and the workloads of others.
- Experience and judgement dealing with accounting issues
- Deadline and goal oriented
- Ability to work independently and with other Associates in a team environment
- Passionate and eager to take on new challenges
